What is Enigma Virtual Box?

Enigma Virtual Box packages a Windows application with the files and registry data it needs, so developers can distribute a single executable instead of a folder of separate components. Select the main executable, add its supporting files in their relative folder structure, choose an output file and process the project. Embedded files can be compressed and emulated in memory rather than extracted for use.

This is application packaging, not file protection. The publisher warns that Enigma Virtual Box does not sufficiently protect embedded files; it is separate from the commercial Enigma Protector. Correct file paths still matter, and an embedded executable must match the main executable's 32-bit or 64-bit architecture to run through virtualization. The publisher tutorial screenshot shows the older 9.20 interface, not the listed 11.30 release.

What it offers

  • Combine a main executable, supporting files and registry data into a single Windows executable.
  • Virtualize DLLs, ActiveX/COM components and application data files.
  • Compress embedded files to reduce the packaged application's size.
  • Support both x86 and x64 applications without modifying the main executable's source code.

Good to know

  • Does not provide sufficient protection for embedded files; packaging is not encryption or copy protection.
  • Virtual files must preserve their paths relative to the main executable.
  • A virtualized executable must have the same 32-bit or 64-bit architecture as the main executable.
