Publisher lists Windows 8 too, but its Electron 44 runtime conflicts with Electron’s Windows 8/8.1 support cutoff. This entry does not claim Windows 8 support. Not installed or runtime-tested.

What is ExpressLRS Configurator?

ExpressLRS Configurator prepares firmware for ExpressLRS radio-control hardware. Use it to work with supported transmitter and receiver targets rather than choosing a generic firmware file. The desktop interface brings firmware configuration, flashing and build logs into one application. It is maintained by ExpressLRS LLC and the open-source community.

Version 1.8.4 fixes local builds for 2.4 GHz-only LR1121/LR2021 devices and hides targets that newer firmware versions no longer support. The linked download is the publisher’s Windows EXE installer; macOS and Linux packages are separate.

Choose the hardware-specific target recommended for your device. The publisher describes the project as experimental and does not guarantee stability or reliability. Radio use must comply with local regulations. The publisher-provided screenshot illustrates the cross-platform home interface and shows version 1.8.0, not the linked 1.8.4 release.

What it offers

  • Build and configure firmware for the ExpressLRS radio link.
  • Flash ExpressLRS firmware to supported transmitters and receivers.
  • Review build logs, including always-visible logs in expert mode in version 1.8.4.
  • Choose the interface language from Settings using the project’s community translations.

Good to know

  • Hardware support depends on an available compatible target; off-the-shelf devices should use their hardware-specific target.
  • The project is experimental, with no guarantee of stability or reliability; local radio-operation restrictions may apply.
  • Windows 8 support is not confirmed for 1.8.4: the release uses Electron 44, while Electron dropped Windows 8/8.1 in version 23.
