What is FortiClient VPN?
FortiClient VPN is the free VPN-only edition of Fortinet’s endpoint client for macOS. Its purpose is remote network access, rather than the broader endpoint protection offered by paid FortiClient editions. Choose it when your organization’s VPN configuration calls for FortiClient; obtain the required connection details from the network administrator.
The free edition does not include product support. Fortinet directs users who need central management, zero-trust posture assessment or additional protection to its commercial tiers. Do not treat descriptions of the full FortiClient security suite as features included in this VPN-only download.
The publisher link checked for this entry resolves to the 7.4.3.4323 online-installer DMG. This is an online installer, not a verified offline package. Fortinet’s macOS 7.4.3 documentation lists Ventura 13, Sonoma 14 and Sequoia 15, with Intel, M1 or M2 processors. macOS permissions also matter: Fortinet says VPN operation requires allowing FortiTray’s network extension.
