What is GDevelop?
GDevelop turns scenes, objects and visual event rules into playable games. Arrange sprites or 3D models, attach behaviors such as platformer movement or pathfinding, and use events to define what happens during play. It suits creators who want to build game logic without writing code, while JavaScript and community extensions offer ways to extend a project. Start from a template or a blank project and preview changes before exporting.
This download is the Windows x64 desktop editor, not a game made with GDevelop or the browser editor. Local development can work offline, but cloud saves, online resources and publishing services need an internet connection. The MIT-licensed editor and engine are distinct from GDevelop's account-based services: the Free plan limits automated desktop and Android publishing to one per day, and AI and cloud storage have quotas. Companies using a GDevelop account with more than US$50,000 in annual revenue must use Pro membership under the publisher's stated account policy.
What it offers
- Compose 2D and 3D scenes with sprites, models, text and particle effects.
- Define game logic with visual events and attach reusable behaviors for movement, physics or pathfinding.
- Start from game templates and preview a project while developing it.
- Extend projects with community extensions or JavaScript code.
- Export games for web, desktop and mobile platforms, with automated publishing subject to service-plan limits.
Good to know
- Cloud saves, online resources and publishing services require an internet connection; offline development does not include those services.
- The Free plan allows one automated desktop publish and one Android publish per day; AI credits and cloud-project storage are also limited.
- The publisher requires Pro membership when a GDevelop account is used for a company with more than US$50,000 in annual revenue.
