What is GoldenDict-ng?
GoldenDict-ng brings entries from several dictionaries into one lookup window. It reads local dictionary formats including MDX, DSL, StarDict and Zim, and can also use network sources such as Wikipedia, Wiktionary and DICT servers. It suits readers and language learners who want to consult different reference sources without switching applications.
The project is a next-generation fork of GoldenDict, with full-text search, a popup lookup window and Anki integration. Its language tools include transliteration for selected languages and word stemming and spelling correction through Hunspell. The publisher's Windows screenshot shows a lookup for 'hello', with dictionary results, favorites and history alongside the article.
This entry links to the publisher's Windows EXE installer for version 26.11.0, built with Qt 6.10.3. The installation guide requires Windows 10 version 1809 or later and the Microsoft Visual C++ runtime. GoldenDict-ng is a lookup tool, not a dictionary editor: it does not modify dictionary files or convert them between formats.
