What is GPSBabel?
GPSBabel moves GPS data between otherwise incompatible receivers and mapping applications. Use it to convert waypoints, tracks and routes, or prepare existing data with operations such as removing duplicate points and simplifying tracks. The Windows distribution includes a graphical interface and a command-line tool, so you can choose menu-driven conversion or command-line processing.
This is a GPS-data converter, not a map converter: it does not convert, transfer or manipulate maps themselves. Format support also varies by data type and direction, so check whether your particular format can read or write waypoints, tracks or routes before choosing an output.
The download here is the publisher's Windows continuous prerelease build 20261025T1330Z-6cdf816, using the x64-compatible EXE installer. It is not the stable 1.10.0 release listed on the official download page. Choose the publisher's stable distribution instead if you do not want a development build. The screenshot is the publisher's illustrative Windows interface image; it does not establish the appearance of this particular build.

Good to know
- The linked installer is a continuous prerelease, not the stable 1.10.0 release; no installation or runtime testing is claimed here.
- GPSBabel processes GPS data, not maps: it does not convert or transfer map files themselves.
- Format support is not uniform across read/write operations and data types; the online capabilities table can include features limited to beta versions or source builds.
- The publisher lists Windows 10 and 11 for its Windows distribution; Windows XP, 7 and 8 are no longer supported.
