What is HomeBank?

HomeBank organizes personal finances around accounts, transactions and categories. Import statement files in QIF, OFX, QFX or CSV format, review possible duplicates and use assignment rules to categorize entries. Split purchases across categories, record transfers between accounts and schedule recurring payments instead of entering each one from scratch.

Monthly or annual category budgets and filtered reports help you compare spending with your plan. Charts show spending patterns and balances, while cash-flow forecasts use scheduled transactions to project what comes next. Those forecasts depend on the schedule you enter; they are not a complete prediction of unrecorded expenses. Accounts are stored together in an XML data file that can be backed up or transferred.

This entry links to the publisher's HomeBank 5.10.3 EXE installer for Windows 10 and 11. It includes GTK+ components and offers a portable edition during installation. The accompanying image comes from the publisher's May 2024 version 5.8 gallery and visibly carries a Release Candidate Version label; it illustrates the interface rather than documenting the current release or a verified Windows-specific capture.

What it offers

  • Import QIF, OFX, QFX and CSV files, with duplicate detection and rule-based payee or category assignment.
  • Track bank, cash, asset, credit-card and liability accounts; split transactions across categories and record internal transfers.
  • Schedule repeating transactions and set monthly or annual budgets by category.
  • Analyze spending and balances with filtered reports, bar, line and donut charts, and schedule-based cash-flow forecasts.
  • Export accounts to QIF and supported data to CSV; keep account data in a single XML file for backup or transfer.

Good to know

  • Cash-flow forecasting is based on scheduled transactions, so expenses or income not represented in that schedule are not covered by that forecast.
  • The publisher supplies the program without warranty under its GPL license.
