What is Ikemen GO?
Ikemen GO is a fighting-game engine for running and extending M.U.G.E.N content. It suits players assembling a custom roster and creators adapting characters, stages and screenpacks. The publisher provides ready-to-use ZIP builds with sample content; on Windows, extract the archive and launch Ikemen_GO.exe. Adding characters and stages also requires registering them in select.def.
The engine adds Lua scripting for game modes and story paths, plus ZSS for character programming. Its publisher describes rollback and delay-based network play for versus matches and cooperative arcade or survival sessions. Interface graphics, menus and the roster can be customized through screenpacks.
M.U.G.E.N compatibility is a goal, not a promise of identical behavior: the project explicitly does not preserve every bug or quirk. The engine's MIT license also does not cover every bundled or community-made art asset. Check the separate asset terms before distributing a custom game. This entry links to the publisher's Windows v1.0.0 ZIP rather than the older 0.99.0 listed by Softonic.
What it offers
- Run M.U.G.E.N resources, with compatibility aimed at M.U.G.E.N 1.1 Beta.
- Use Lua for game modes and story paths, and ZSS for character programming.
- Play online versus or cooperative arcade and survival using the publisher's network-play features.
- Customize character rosters, stages, screenpacks and in-game menus.
Good to know
- Compatibility is not bug-for-bug M.U.G.E.N emulation; some behavior intentionally differs.
- Additional characters and stages need configuration in select.def, not just extraction into a folder.
- The engine is MIT-licensed, but bundled and third-party artwork has separate terms; engine licensing alone does not permit redistribution of every asset.
