What is jMemorize?

jMemorize is a desktop flashcard program for learning facts through repeated review. It uses the Leitner method and keeps track of learning progress, with categories to organize material and statistics to show how study is progressing. Unicode flashcard text makes it useful for material that includes different writing systems.

The Windows download here is the archived 1.3.0 EXE installer listed by SourceForge, dated March 12, 2008. It is a legacy package, not a newly released Windows application. The project README documents Java 1.5 as its runtime requirement; compatibility with current Java releases and Windows 10 or 11 has not been verified. SourceForge points ongoing project maintenance to the linked GitHub repository.

The publisher-hosted screenshot shows an older jMemorize 0.9rc3 interface: a category tree, card table and deck-progress chart. It illustrates the application workflow, not a verified screenshot of the selected 1.3.0 installer.

What it offers

  • Study facts using Leitner flashcards and learning sessions.
  • Organize flashcards into categories.
  • Track learning progress with statistics.
  • Use Unicode text in flashcards.

Good to know

  • The selected Windows installer is an archived 1.3.0 package from March 2008; it is not presented as a current release.
  • The legacy README specifies Java 1.5. Current Java compatibility and support for Windows 10 or 11 are unverified.
  • The publisher screenshot is labeled jMemorize 0.9rc3, so its interface can differ from version 1.3.0.
