What is KDiff3?
KDiff3 helps you reconcile different copies of text files and folders. It compares two or three inputs, highlights changes down to individual characters and combines automatic merging with an editor for conflicts that need a decision. That makes it useful for reviewing source changes or bringing diverged text documents back together.
The interface can highlight or hide whitespace and comment changes, supports Unicode and other text encodings, and can print differences. The selected publisher download is KDiff3 1.12.6 for macOS ARM64; KDE lists a separate x86_64 disk image for Intel Macs.
The project README warns that binary comparison is temporarily disabled because of stability issues and that comparisons over non-file network URLs can fail in some configurations. Use this entry for text comparison and merging, not as a promise of general binary comparison. The screenshot is KDE's Linux desktop example of the interface, not a capture of the Mac build.
