What is KeyStore Explorer?
KeyStore Explorer gives Java developers a graphical way to work with keys and certificates instead of using keytool and jarsigner for every operation. Open a keystore to inspect its entries, import certificates or key pairs, change passwords and export material in a supported format. It can create and convert keystores including JKS and PKCS #12, and access Apple Keychain as a keystore.
For certificate work, it can generate key pairs and certificate signing requests, import a certificate authority's reply and display certificate details. Its signing tools include signing and verifying Java Archive (JAR) files. These are development and certificate-management functions, not evidence that a particular certificate or downloaded application is trustworthy.
This entry links to the 5.7.0 Apple Silicon DMG. Mount the disk image and drag KeyStore Explorer to Applications; the application bundle includes a custom Java runtime. Intel Macs need the separate x64 DMG on the publisher's downloads page. The cross-platform ZIP is a different distribution and requires Java 17 or later to be installed separately. The cited download page does not establish an exact minimum macOS version.
The publisher's macOS screenshot shows version 5.5.0 with a key-pair context menu and signing submenu. It illustrates the application interface, not a test or screenshot of the linked 5.7.0 build.
