What is Kindle Previewer?
Kindle Previewer helps authors and publishers inspect an ebook before it reaches Kindle readers. Open a manuscript, let the application convert it, and switch between tablet, phone and Kindle e-reader previews. Adjust orientation, font and text size to see where the layout changes rather than judging the book from one fixed page view.
For books that support Enhanced Typesetting, the overview and element filters help you inspect images, tables, lists and drop caps without paging through every screen. Auto-Advance View offers a separate way to review the whole book. The application also provides command-line validation for multiple manuscripts.
This entry links to Amazon’s Mac PKG installer for Kindle Previewer 4.0.3. It requires macOS 12 or later on Intel or Apple Silicon; some conversion features still need Rosetta 2 on Apple Silicon. DOC and DOCX input is limited to English, and Amazon sets a 650 MB manuscript conversion limit. Previewer is for checking how a book renders; Amazon identifies Kindle Create as the separate book-formatting tool.
