What is Knowte?
Knowte is a free, open-source note-taking application for organizing and finding your notes. Notebooks group related material, while collections let you separate areas such as home and work. It is a practical fit for keeping project notes, reference material and checklists in a desktop application rather than leaving them in unrelated files.
You can write Markdown notes, search inside a note, pin notes and use the spell checker. Task lists and PDF export provide ways to track work and share a finished note. Knowte also supports note encryption and password protection; this entry does not claim an independently assessed level of security.
This entry links to the publisher’s Knowte 3.0.1 Windows EXE installer. It covers the Electron-based application, not the original WPF/C# Knowte for Windows. Import from Knowte 1.x was removed in version 3.0.0, so do not assume that an old note collection can be imported directly. The publisher screenshot illustrates the application layout and is not a capture of a locally tested installation.
