What is Lexibar French?
Lexibar French puts French special characters in a toolbar for times when your keyboard does not provide them. Choose a character to insert it into your word processor, or drag it into the document. If direct insertion does not work in your application, double-click the character to copy it to the clipboard and paste it yourself.
Right-click a character to switch between lower and upper case. Press the space bar to change the toolbar orientation, or use the plus and minus keys to adjust its size. This is a character-entry utility, not the similarly named Lexibar reading and writing assistance product.
The publisher labels this Windows release 1.4f (2019) and lists Windows XP, Vista, 7, 8 and 10. Windows 11 compatibility is not established by that listing. The screenshot is an older catalog example labeled v1.3, showing the French character toolbar rather than confirming the appearance of release 1.4f.
What it offers
- Insert French special characters by clicking them or dragging them into a document.
- Double-click a character to copy it to the clipboard when direct insertion does not work.
- Toggle a character between lower and upper case with the right mouse button.
- Change toolbar orientation with the space bar and adjust its size with the plus and minus keys.
Good to know
- Direct insertion and drag and drop may not work in every target application; the publisher provides clipboard copying as a fallback.
- The publisher lists Windows XP, Vista, 7, 8 and 10 for version 1.4f (2019); Windows 11 support is unconfirmed.
