What is LibrePCB?
LibrePCB brings schematic drawing and PCB layout into one electronics-design workflow. Its schematic editor keeps the board synchronized as you work, while electrical and design rule checks help identify problems before you send a design to a manufacturer. The board editor includes a live 3D view, and the library tools organize reusable parts, symbols and footprints.
Projects can be used offline without an online account. Human-readable project and library files also suit version control, and a separate command-line interface supports automated checks and exports.
This entry links to the publisher's LibrePCB 2.1.1 bundle for Apple Silicon Macs; Intel Macs need the separate Intel bundle on the official download page. Manufacturer-specific design rules still need configuration. The 3D preview shows assembled parts only where a corresponding 3D model exists, so a missing model is not proof that a part is absent from the board.
