What is Malwarebytes?
Malwarebytes for Windows scans for malware and removes existing infections. The Free edition provides on-demand cleanup; Premium Security adds ongoing protection against malware, ransomware, malicious websites and exploits. Choose between them based on whether you need a manual cleanup tool or continuous protection.
The publisher's Windows app includes a tray dashboard with Scan and Update controls and switches for real-time protection layers. Premium features require the appropriate subscription; downloading the installer does not make those features permanently free.
The current system requirements list Windows 10 and Windows 11, at least 4 GB of memory, 1 GB of free disk space at installation and S mode disabled.
