What is Money Manager Ex?
Money Manager Ex brings everyday personal finance records into one desktop application. It supports checking, savings and credit card accounts alongside stock investments and assets, so you can track more than a single spending balance. Categories and tags organize transactions, while scheduled bills and deposits help you account for recurring commitments.
For reviewing your finances, MMEX offers budgeting, cash-flow forecasting and reports with graphs and charts. CSV and QIF imports provide a way to bring in records from supported file exports. The publisher also offers portable packages; the download selected here is the Windows 64-bit EXE installer, not the portable ZIP.
Version 1.9.4 has an important publisher-reported limitation: balances can be calculated incorrectly when date-range filters are used. The release notes advise reverting to 1.9.3 if affected. Read that warning before relying on filtered balances. The screenshot illustrates a legacy Windows interface in Spanish, with a new-database wizard and currency selector; it is not a screenshot of the selected 1.9.4 build.
What it offers
- Track checking, savings, credit card, stock investment and asset accounts.
- Organize transactions with nested categories and tags on split transactions.
- Set reminders for scheduled bills and deposits.
- Plan budgets and forecast cash flow, then review reports with graphs and charts.
- Import financial records from CSV and QIF files.
Good to know
- The publisher warns that version 1.9.4 can miscalculate balances when date-range filters are used and advises reverting to 1.9.3 if affected.
- The linked package is the Windows 64-bit installer; 32-bit and portable packages are separate release assets.
