What is MSWLogo?
MSWLogo is an educational Logo programming environment for Windows. Learners issue commands to move a turtle and draw on screen, then combine commands into procedures to build more involved patterns and programs. It is suited to exploring programming and geometry rather than designing a commercial brand logo.
The publisher documents multiple independent turtles, bitmap handling, 3D perspective drawing and animated GIF generation. Windows dialog boxes and mouse, keyboard and timer events let projects go beyond static drawings. These are documented capabilities, not features tested by SoftGalaxy.
This entry links to the publisher's 32-bit Windows setup kit for version 6.5b, released on December 19, 2002. The publisher lists legacy Windows systems through Windows 7; compatibility with Windows 10 or 11 is not established by the sources used here. The publisher also links to FMSLogo as a separate continued-development project.
What it offers
- Use Logo commands and procedures to explore turtle graphics and geometric patterns.
- Work with multiple independent turtles and bitmap images.
- Create 3D perspective drawings and animated GIFs.
- Build Windows dialog boxes and respond to mouse, keyboard and timer events.
Good to know
- Version 6.5b dates from 2002; the publisher's listed Windows support is legacy, and Windows 10 or 11 compatibility is not verified here.
- The publisher lists separate Win32Help components for Vista and Windows 7; the old help system can require an additional component on those systems.
