What is opentrack?
opentrack connects a head-tracking input to a game or flight simulator. Choose an input such as NeuralNet webcam tracking, PointTracker light points or a UDP receiver, then select an output protocol suited to the game. Filters and mapping curves let you shape how physical head movement becomes in-game movement.
The Windows release is available as an EXE installer, with a separate portable archive on the publisher’s release page. This entry links to the 2026.1.0 installer. Its release notes describe a new NeuralNet model, additional resolutions and framerates, and camera offsets for off-center mounting.
Setup depends on the tracker and the receiving game: selecting a compatible output protocol and configuring the tracking input are required. XInput gamepad shortcuts also need Microsoft’s GameInput redistributable. The screenshots show historical 2.3-era Windows interfaces and illustrate the tracker, protocol, filter and data displays; they are not screenshots of the linked 2026.1.0 release.
What it offers
- Use supported head-tracking inputs, including NeuralNet webcam estimation, PointTracker light points, Aruco markers and UDP.
- Send movement data through supported outputs such as SimConnect, freetrack, UDP or Windows mouse output.
- Shape motion with filters and mapping curves for six degrees of freedom.
- Adjust camera offsets for off-center mounting in release 2026.1.0.
Good to know
- The tracker must be configured and the output protocol must match the receiving game; head-tracking integration is not universal.
- XInput gamepad shortcut input in 2026.1.0 requires the GameInput redistributable.
