What is Outerbase Studio?

Outerbase Studio is a SQL database GUI for writing queries, browsing records and changing table structures. The Windows desktop application wraps the web-based Studio in Electron and adds drivers for databases such as MySQL and PostgreSQL. It is a client for working with databases, rather than a database server to deploy in their place.

The publisher describes a query editor with auto-completion and function hints, a data editor that stages changes for review before committing, and a schema editor for creating, modifying or removing columns without writing SQL. The project began with SQLite and LibSQL and also lists services including Turso and Cloudflare D1. MySQL and PostgreSQL are explicitly described as beta integrations with limited features; do not assume feature parity across database engines.

This entry links to the publisher's version 0.1.29 Windows x64 EXE installer, released on April 28, 2025. Its build configuration uses an NSIS installer with a selectable installation directory and does not delete application data on uninstall. The inspected sources do not establish a minimum Windows version. The desktop code points to a hosted Studio editor, so this entry does not promise a fully offline workspace. The screenshot illustrates the publisher's earlier LibSQLStudio-branded editor, not a verified capture of this Windows build.

What it offers

  • Write and run SQL queries with publisher-documented auto-completion and function hints.
  • Stage table-data changes and preview them before committing.
  • Create, modify and remove table columns through a graphical schema editor.
  • Use desktop drivers for MySQL and PostgreSQL alongside the project's SQLite and LibSQL focus.

Good to know

  • The publisher labels MySQL and PostgreSQL support beta with limited features; database engines do not have a documented promise of feature parity.
  • The selected installer is Windows x64. A minimum Windows version is not established by the inspected release sources, and this build was not installed or tested here.
  • The wrapper is configured to use a hosted Studio editor; fully offline operation is not established. Its uninstall configuration retains application data.
