What is PPSSPP - PSP emulator?
PPSSPP runs games and other software originally made for the Sony PlayStation Portable on a Windows PC. It is useful if you already have PSP game files and want keyboard or gamepad controls, adjustable rendering resolution and the ability to save and restore an emulated game state. The emulator is free and open source under GPL 2.0 or later.
Graphics options include texture scaling, anisotropic filtering and post-processing effects. Windows controller support includes XInput and DirectInput, and controls can be remapped. You can also transfer saved games from a real PSP to continue existing progress. Higher resolution is not a guarantee of better results: the publisher documents a performance cost and possible menu or HUD artifacts in some games.
This entry links to the publisher's regular Windows EXE installer for version 1.20.4, not PPSSPP Gold or a development build. The publisher also offers a portable ZIP and a separate native ARM64 package. No PSP games are bundled; you must supply your own game files. The screenshot is a historical gameplay image from Softonic's Windows gallery, not a capture of version 1.20.4 taken for this entry.
