What is Rymdport?
Rymdport is a graphical application for sending files, folders and text between devices. It uses the magic-wormhole protocol with end-to-end encryption, and the publisher documents compatibility with other wormhole clients as well as Rymdport itself. The interface separates sending and receiving; the publisher screenshot shows individual transfer codes and progress for several items.
This download is the Windows x86-64 ZIP archive for version 3.9.1. The publisher describes the Windows application as self-contained, with no installer: extract the archive and place the application where you want to keep it. An ARM64 archive is offered separately.
Check graphics support before choosing it for an older PC or a virtual machine. The publisher requires OpenGL 2.1 or later and documents Windows launch failures with some older Intel graphics drivers and virtual machines without suitable graphics acceleration. Windows 10 or Windows Server 2016 is the documented minimum; no application installation or transfer was performed for this entry.
What it offers
- Send files, folders and text between devices.
- Use end-to-end encrypted transfers through the magic-wormhole protocol.
- Exchange data with compatible wormhole clients, not just another Rymdport instance.
- Use a graphical sending and receiving interface with per-item transfer progress.
- Run a self-contained Windows application without an installer.
Good to know
- Requires OpenGL 2.1 or later; some older Intel graphics drivers and virtual machines without suitable graphics acceleration can prevent the application from opening.
- The linked archive is for Windows x86-64; Windows ARM64 uses a separate release asset.
