What is Scilab?
Scilab provides a programming environment for numerical analysis and scientific computing. Its high-level language and mathematical functions support work in mathematics, optimization, statistics, signal processing and control systems. Use its 2D and 3D graphics to visualize results, or develop algorithms for an engineering or research workflow.
Xcos is included for building and simulating hybrid dynamical-system models with graphical blocks. Some workflows need additional tools: the publisher lists Visual Studio 2022 for compiling C or C++ external modules and for Modelica use in Xcos. Installing ATOMS modules needs an Internet connection, with manual ATOMS configuration when using a proxy.
This entry links to the publisher's Scilab 2027.0.0 Windows x86-64 EXE installer. The separate Windows ARM64 package is marked experimental. The screenshot is a historical Windows plotting example from Softonic's Scilab gallery, not a capture of the linked release.
What it offers
- Use a high-level programming language and hundreds of mathematical functions for numerical computing.
- Visualize data with 2D and 3D graphical functions.
- Work on optimization, statistics, signal processing and control-system problems.
- Build and simulate hybrid dynamical-system models with the included Xcos graphical tools.
Good to know
- Compiling C or C++ external modules and using Modelica in Xcos requires an additional C compiler; the Windows requirements name Visual Studio 2022.
- Installing ATOMS modules requires an Internet connection; proxy use requires manual ATOMS configuration.
- The linked installer is for Windows x86-64; the publisher offers Windows ARM64 separately and labels it experimental.
