What is SoftMaker Office?
SoftMaker Office combines TextMaker for documents, PlanMaker for spreadsheets and charts, and Presentations for slide decks. It suits Windows users who want a desktop office suite that works directly with Word, Excel and PowerPoint file formats: DOCX, XLSX and PPTX are its native formats.
The linked publisher installer is SoftMaker Office NX, the subscription edition. PlanMaker includes dynamic arrays and XLOOKUP; TextMaker supports Markdown import and export, along with comments you can reply to and resolve.
The Windows trial lasts 30 days. Continuing afterward requires a purchased product key; this is not the separate FreeOffice product. The publisher also offers Office 2026 separately, but that is not the installer linked here. The screenshot shows an older Windows Presentations interface from the source gallery, not the current NX design.
What it offers
- Create and format documents in TextMaker using the native DOCX format.
- Edit XLSX spreadsheets and create charts in PlanMaker, with dynamic arrays and XLOOKUP.
- Build PPTX slide decks with animations and transitions in Presentations.
- Import and export Markdown in TextMaker; reply to comments and mark them resolved.
Good to know
- The NX Windows trial lasts 30 days; continued use requires a purchased product key for the paid subscription edition.
- The publisher lists 64-bit Windows systems for this download; it is not a 32-bit Windows package.
