What is SuperF4?
SuperF4 adds a force-quit shortcut for Windows applications that will not close normally. Ctrl+Alt+F4 terminates the foreground program instead of sending the ordinary Alt+F4 request, which an application can refuse. It is a focused utility for ending a troublesome program, not a replacement for saving your work or closing an application normally. Force-quitting can lose unsaved changes.
For mouse-based selection, press Win+F4 and click the window you want to terminate. Escape or the right mouse button cancels this mode without killing a program. Version 1.4 also adds a process blacklist, with explorer.exe included by default.
The linked download is the publisher's SuperF4 1.4 EXE installer, released on February 16, 2019; the publisher separately offers 32-bit and 64-bit portable ZIP packages. Softonic lists Windows 11, but this card does not establish tested compatibility on current Windows versions. The publisher warns that anti-keylogger protection in some games can block shortcut detection and documents TimerCheck as an alternative detection method.
What it offers
- Terminate the foreground program with Ctrl+Alt+F4 rather than asking it to close with Alt+F4.
- Press Win+F4 and click a window to select the program to terminate; cancel with Escape or a right-click.
- Use the process blacklist introduced in version 1.4, which includes explorer.exe by default.
- Enable the publisher-documented TimerCheck option for an alternative shortcut-detection method.
Good to know
- Anti-keylogger protection in some games can prevent Ctrl+Alt+F4 detection; the publisher suggests TimerCheck as an alternative.
- Force-quitting can discard unsaved changes; it is not a normal save-and-close operation.
- Version 1.4 dates from 2019. Softonic lists Windows 11, but current Windows compatibility has not been independently tested for this card.
