What is Tailscale?
Tailscale connects your devices and services across different networks in a private mesh network called a tailnet. It uses WireGuard for encrypted point-to-point connections and is useful for reaching a home server or remote work resources without setting up port forwarding. On Windows, its system-tray menu provides connection status and configuration options.
Getting started requires an account and browser-based sign-in through an identity provider. Authenticate the devices you want to connect to the same tailnet. Tailscale is primarily a way to connect private devices; routing all internet traffic through it requires an exit node rather than just installing the client.
This entry links to the publisher’s 1.104.4 x64 MSI installer. Choose a different package for ARM64 or 32-bit x86 systems. The free Personal plan has usage limits, while team plans and some capabilities are paid.
