What is Tera Term?
Tera Term provides a Windows terminal for communicating with remote hosts and equipment connected through a serial port. It supports SSH through the TTSSH module, Telnet connections and terminal emulation including VT100 and selected VT200/300 functions. This makes it useful when the task is a text-based remote session or a device console rather than a graphical remote desktop.
For repeatable terminal work, Tera Term supports scripts written in Tera Term Language, log replay and file transfers using protocols such as XMODEM, YMODEM and ZMODEM. UTF-8 is among its supported character encodings. The linked package is the publisher's 5.7.1 x64 EXE installer; x86, ARM64 and portable ZIP packages are separate release assets.
Tera Term is a Windows application. The selected x64 installer is not the package for 32-bit Windows. The gallery image shows the application’s New connection dialog with serial ports expanded; its older Windows styling is illustrative, not proof of the appearance of release 5.7.1.
