What is TextMate?
TextMate is a macOS text editor for working with code, markup and other plain-text files. Multiple carets let you change several places at once, while file search lets you move between matches and preview replacements. Snippets with placeholders and recorded macros help with repeated edits.
Language and workflow support is organized into bundles. Scoped settings let different languages or projects use different shortcuts and preferences, and version-control integration shows changed files and lines. The publisher requires macOS 10.12 or later for the linked TextMate 2 release; older Macs need a compatible older release from the publisher's download page. The screenshots illustrate the editor, not a locally installed or tested copy of this download.
