What is TeXworks?
TeXworks brings TeX source editing and PDF preview into one working environment. Use its Unicode-aware editor to write LaTeX or ConTeXt documents, with syntax highlighting, command completion and source spell-checking. Its PDF-centered workflow uses typesetting engines such as pdfTeX and XeTeX to turn marked-up text into formatted documents.
The integrated PDF viewer lets you check the output without switching applications. SyncTeX links positions in the source and preview, helping you move from a passage in the document back to the corresponding text.
The linked TeXworks 0.6.11 disk image targets Intel x86_64 Macs running macOS 11 or later. The publisher also lists a separate legacy macOS 10.13 build; this button does not select that package. Native Apple Silicon compatibility is not established for the selected Intel download. The gallery image is the publisher's historical TeXworks 0.4 screenshot on macOS, not an image of version 0.6.11.
