What is Thorium Browser?
Thorium Browser is a Chromium-based web browser for people who want a Chrome-like interface with additional format support and interface controls. The publisher documents JPEG XL image support, Widevine and HEVC/H.265 support on Windows, plus a reload menu with normal, hard and cache-clearing options. Its address bar shows full URLs by default.
The linked installer is version 138.0.7204.303 from the publisher’s Windows release repository, not a claim to provide the newest available Thorium build. It targets 64-bit processors with AVX support. Check the processor’s instruction set before choosing it: the publisher warns that a build requiring unsupported SIMD instructions will crash. Separate SSE and AVX2 packages exist.
The selected release also lists an oversized window-dragging area above the tabs when the browser is not maximized. The screenshot is a historical publisher-provided Windows interface image displaying Speedometer, not a test performed for this listing or a representation of measured performance on your computer.

- Use publisher-documented Widevine and HEVC/H.265 support on Windows.
