What is Time Out - Break Reminders?
Time Out is a Mac break reminder for people who lose track of time while working at a screen. It starts with longer Normal breaks and short Micro breaks, with adjustable duration and frequency. You can add your own break types and let time away from the Mac count toward a natural break instead of receiving another reminder immediately after returning.
Rules can postpone or skip breaks around particular apps, calendar events, Focus, or fullscreen work. Themes change what appears during a break, while optional actions can play sounds or run scripts before, during, or after it. Use the menu bar to start a break, pause reminders, or change when the next one is due.
This entry links to the publisher-hosted ZIP for the direct edition of version 3.1, which requires macOS 26.0 or later. Dejal separately lists version 2.9.7 for macOS 10.15 or later; that is not the package linked here. Core features remain free, but supporter and premium features have trials and require a purchase for continued use. The direct edition offers non-renewing Supporter and Lifetime purchases; recurring Premium subscriptions are an option in the Mac App Store edition, not this direct download.
