What is UPX Shell?
UPX Shell provides a graphical Windows front end for the UPX executable packer. It is aimed at working with program executables rather than creating general-purpose document archives. The historical interface presents file information alongside compression and options tabs, giving users a visual way to work with UPX.
The linked package is UPXShell-3.2.1.2007.exe from the publisher's nonbeta release tree, not the separate source-code package. SourceForge also lists a newer 3.4.2.2007 build under its beta tree, which is the version shown on Softonic. This is a legacy project: SourceForge records its last project update as September 15, 2012. Compatibility with current Windows releases has not been established, and the historical screenshot does not demonstrate the selected package running today.
What it offers
- Graphical Win32 front end for the UPX executable packer.
- Historical interface displays the selected executable's name and original size.
- Separate file, compression and options tabs in the illustrated interface.
Good to know
- Legacy software with a SourceForge project-update date of September 15, 2012; current Windows compatibility is not established.
- The selected 3.2.1.2007 package is older than the separately listed 3.4.2.2007 beta; the screenshot is historical and is not verified as the selected build.
