What is uTorrent?
uTorrent Classic for Mac is a desktop BitTorrent client for downloading and sharing files through torrents. Its main window groups transfers by status and shows progress, transfer speeds, seeds and peers. Toolbar controls let you add a torrent or URL, add an RSS feed, and start, stop or remove transfers.
This entry covers the original legacy Mac client, not uTorrent Web or uTorrent Neo. The publisher explicitly excludes macOS Catalina 10.15 and all later versions, so this is not a download for a current Mac operating system. The screenshots show the legacy interface: the publisher image illustrates transfer management, while the larger Softonic image shows toolbar customization.
Softonic lists the Mac release as 1.8.7, build 45548. Its page-update date is not treated here as the software release date. The publisher's Mac Classic download is supplied as a DMG; processor architecture and the exact build inside that disk image have not been inspected.
