What is wxFormBuilder?
wxFormBuilder helps developers create interfaces for the wxWidgets framework. It combines a visual interface builder with code generation for C++, Python, Lua and PHP, so the same design tool can serve different wxWidgets language bindings. It also imports and exports XRC interface definitions, and custom plugins can add support for additional widgets.
This entry links to the publisher's Windows x64 EXE package for version 4.2.1. The gallery image shows the older Windows v3.0 interface, including its object tree, component palette and generated C++ view; it is a historical illustration, not a screenshot of 4.2.1.
Version 4.2.1 fixes a wxTextCtrl maxlength conversion problem, but the publisher warns that projects already converted by 4.2.0 are not repaired automatically. For an affected control, the documented workaround is to change maxlength to a nonzero value and then back to 0.
What it offers
- Build graphical interfaces for the wxWidgets framework.
- Generate C++, Python, Lua and PHP code.
- Import and export XRC interface definitions.
- Use custom plugins to support additional widgets.
Good to know
- Version 4.2.1 does not automatically repair affected wxTextCtrl controls in projects already converted by 4.2.0; the publisher documents a manual maxlength-property workaround.
