What is RightNote?
RightNote is a Windows note organizer from Bauer Apps for keeping reference material in structured notebooks. Each notebook contains pages, and each page has its own hierarchical note tree. That structure suits project notes or a personal reference library where a single long document would be awkward to navigate. Tags provide another way to group related entries, while live search highlights matching content as you type.
The Freeware edition includes rich-text, plain-text memo, source-code and file-link notes. Standard and Professional add spreadsheet notes, file attachments and more advanced clipping of styled web content. Professional also adds searching across multiple notebooks. Check the edition before choosing it for a workflow: the free edition is not the full paid feature set. The publisher offers a 30-day trial of the commercial features and a freeware edition for personal and commercial use.
This entry links to the publisher's Windows EXE installer, listed as version 6.8.5. A separate portable ZIP is available from the publisher. Evernote integration was removed in version 6.6.0, despite older references on the product page and in the historical screenshot. Existing users who edited notebooks with 6.8.2 should read the publisher's recovery instructions: later releases address lost notebook properties and incorrect compression labels, and an update alone is not a substitute for checking affected files.
