What is Uconeer?
Uconeer is Katmar Software's Windows unit converter for engineers, scientists and technicians. It brings 465 units in 49 categories together with specialist calculators for tasks such as converting mass and volumetric flowrate, switching between dynamic and kinematic viscosity, and calculating Reynolds number for pipe flow. Its IAPWS IF-97 steam tables add water and steam property calculations alongside everyday length, pressure and temperature conversions.
For repeated work, the main converter remembers the last units used in each category and keeps recently used categories visible. You can define up to 12 favorite conversions and add up to five custom units per category. Exporting and importing those custom units lets an office or project share its chosen definitions. Scientific and engineering notation, adjustable significant digits and clipboard support help move results into other documents or spreadsheets.
The publisher's Windows download is a ZIP archive containing uconeer_setup.exe. Extract the setup file before installing it. This entry describes publisher version 4.2, listed in the development history for August 2026, rather than the older version 3.4 on Softonic. Uconeer is commercial software: its evaluation has the full feature set but stops working 30 days after installation unless a purchased license removes the time limit.
Check the hardware restriction before choosing it for an ARM-based Windows device. Katmar reports incompatibilities on newer Surface Pro systems using Qualcomm Snapdragon or Microsoft SQ processors and recommends trying the evaluation before buying. The publisher lists Windows 7 through Windows 11, but that compatibility statement is not an independent installation test.
What it offers
- Convert 465 units across 49 categories, including engineering measurements such as enthalpy, torque and viscosity.
- Use IAPWS IF-97 steam tables and search for conditions using enthalpy, entropy or density.
- Add up to five custom units per category and export or import their definitions.
- Save up to 12 favorite conversions and reuse recently selected categories and units.
- Use specialist calculators for mass/volume flowrate, viscosity, steel hardness, fractional inches, the gas constant and Reynolds number.
- Format results in scientific or engineering notation and copy values and unit labels through the clipboard.
Good to know
- The fully functional evaluation expires 30 days after installation; continued use requires a purchased license.
- The publisher reports ARM-based Surface Pro incompatibilities and advises checking the trial on those devices before purchasing.
- Installing version 4.2 invalidates licenses purchased before January 1, 2025, according to the publisher's upgrade instructions; those users should contact Katmar about an upgrade first.
