What is UNIGINE Valley?
UNIGINE Valley puts a graphics card under load while rendering a forested mountain valley. Its free Basic Edition suits manual benchmark runs: choose a preset or adjust graphics settings in the launcher, start the application and run its benchmark. Results show average FPS, a score and the settings used, and can be saved as an HTML report.
The launcher offers DirectX 9, DirectX 11 and OpenGL, plus quality, anti-aliasing, resolution and display options. Outside the benchmark run, cinematic, free-flight and walking camera modes let you explore the scene. Environment controls change time of day, clouds, rain and wind; GPU temperature and clock monitoring help you observe the workload.
This is version 1.0 from 2013, not a new release. The current publisher page lists Windows XP, Vista, 7, 8, 10 and 11, with 512 MB of video memory and 1.5 GB of disk space required. Basic does not include automated benchmark looping, command-line automation or CSV reporting. Those features require an extended edition, while commercial-use licensing is listed for Professional and Enterprise. The Basic EULA limits use to educational and evaluation purposes.
