What is VRCX?

VRCX brings VRChat social and collection management into a separate desktop application. Use it to organize friends, worlds, avatars and groups, check friends' online status, or keep notes about people you meet. Friendship history includes add dates, name changes and time spent together, making it useful when a friends list becomes difficult to remember by names alone.

You can send and receive invitations and friend requests without relying solely on the VRChat client or website. Search covers users, worlds, avatars and groups, while export tools let you take selected lists and notes out of VRCX. It is a companion, not a replacement for VRChat: the publisher says it uses the VRChat API rather than modifying the game. It is not endorsed by VRChat, and features that depend on that service can be affected by upstream changes. The linked Windows EXE is the 2026.09.16 release; the publisher's illustrative Feed screenshot shows an older 2023.06.30 interface, not a hands-on capture of this release.

What it offers

  • Manage friend, world, avatar and group lists outside the VRChat client.
  • Track friends' online status, locations and avatars.
  • Keep friendship history, including add dates, name changes and time spent together, alongside personal notes.
  • Search users, worlds, avatars and groups, including by pasted IDs or URLs.
  • Send and receive invitations and friend requests, with instance information for received invitations.
  • Export friends, avatars, Discord names, notes and favorite groups; import favorite groups and group moderation bans.

Good to know

  • This is a third-party VRChat companion, not an endorsed VRChat product or a replacement game client.
  • VRChat API-dependent features rely on the external service; the 2026.09.16 release notes explicitly describe changes prompted by VRChat breaking functionality.
