What is r2modman?

r2modman is a free, open-source mod manager for games using Thunderstore. It brings browsing, installing and updating mods into one interface, with support for games including Risk of Rain 2, Valheim, Dyson Sphere Program, GTFO and BONEWORKS. The Windows download linked here is the publisher's r2modman Setup 3.2.20 executable from GitHub, not a third-party repack.

Profiles let you keep different sets of mods separate rather than changing one shared setup every time you play. You can enable, disable or uninstall mods within a profile, edit configuration files in the manager and export a profile with its mods and configs to share with friends. The publisher also documents automatic application updates, which install after the manager closes.

This is a manager for supported games, not a universal installer for every game's mods. Its own documentation distinguishes manager errors from mod errors and directs mod-specific problems to the relevant game's modding community. The publisher identifies GitHub, Thunderstore and its ebkr.dev build host as legitimate distribution sources; this card links directly to the GitHub Windows Setup asset.

What it offers

  • Browse, download and install Thunderstore mods for supported games.
  • Keep separate mod profiles and switch between different mod sets.
  • Export profiles to share mods and configuration files with friends.
  • Enable, disable, uninstall and update mods from the manager.
  • Edit mod configuration files within the application.

Good to know

  • Game support is specific: the publisher lists supported games rather than promising compatibility with every game or mod ecosystem.
  • Mod-specific errors may still require help from the relevant game's modding community; managing a mod does not establish that it works correctly.
