What is Story Architect?
Story Architect, also called STARC, brings drafting and story planning into one project. You can keep different story forms together with a project bible for characters, locations and worlds, rather than maintaining separate files for each part of a series. The free version does not limit the number of projects you can create.
Its screenplay editor uses Tab and Enter to switch paragraph formats, while other editing modules cover treatments, comics, plays and novels. Document import and export, session statistics and application settings belong to the open core. Light, dark and custom themes let you adjust the writing workspace.
The distinction between core editing and premium planning matters before you choose it. Cloud synchronization, the character-relations editor, corkboard and timeline, mind maps and AI tools are commercially licensed features, not unrestricted parts of the free editor.
